This poster was designed for a fake exhibit in the Blanton Museum of Art. The exhibit would reflect some the Bauhaus school’s production, including furniture, paintings, graphics, and architecture. I designed the poster with the Bauhaus graphic style in mind.
Month: March 2013
Program Book: TASA
The TASA: Community and Art is an outstanding program of speakers, events, and forums around the topics of community and art. The 2013 conference theme, Art + Community is a shared dialog of green art, social-activism, collaboration and community art that explores the open exchange of ideas, influences, policies and actions that artists and communities engage in both at the local and global level. This booklet was made with a clean and open layout. The green and blue colors where chosen to signify the idea behind the theme.
The session book is located inside the TASA: Art + Community. It gives you all the information of each session during the program.
How to Book
This How to Book is about opening an unlocked door. My chosen audience was children. I attempted to make the book have a light humorous feel throughout with the images.
Weather Report
This was a weather report that organized the weather by location, day, and hierarchy (high temperature) in europe. I chose a simple, clean design with basic water and land colors (blue and green).
KOM: Mnemonic
This poster was designed around the word mnemonic and the exhibit The Kitchen of Meaning. Mnemonic is any learning technique that would help aid the memory of something. I used the word kitchen from the title of the exhibit and turned it into an acrostic mnemonic. An acrostic mnemonic is an invented sentence where the first letter of each word is a cue to an idea you need to remember.
I used the sentence “Koalas Imagine The Crazy Hippo Eating Nutella”. By doing this I was able to define the word by using an example in the title and was able to also advertise the exhibit, which includes the word mnemonic. I designed the poster to complement the sentence used. Using cartoon illustrations I was able to create a fun and humorous feel to the poster that complements the humorous sentence.
